ABOUT BRIANNA
I HELP FELLOW HUMANS RECOVER FROM HIGH-CONTROL ENVIRONMENTS AND LEARN TO TRUST THEMSELVES.
Hi, I'm Brianna.
I work with individual adults on many different presenting problems. I specialize in helping people from all backgrounds recover from high-control environments (ie. narcissistic abuse, religious abuse, living in the world in a marginalized body/brain) to build confidence and learn to trust themselves.
In my therapeutic practice,
-
I work to equip you with practical knowledge, tools, and skills to cope effectively with life and address burnout.
-
I work to connect you to your rich inner world, made up of many parts. Our parts are often in conflict with one another, and I help guide your wise Self to be the trusted leader of all your parts.
A little more about me...
I received my master's degree in counseling and human services and my bachelor's degree in interpersonal and intercultural communication, both from University of Colorado.
Before becoming a therapist, I studied and taught interpersonal and intercultural communication, worked as an ESL teacher in South Korea, and was a school counselor in Colorado Springs.
I am politically progressive and actively healing from my own experiences as a neurodivergent (neurospicy!) womxn raised in Evangelical Fundamentalism. I have found joy and power in learning to love and trust myself. I am honored to accompany fellow humans to do the same.
In my free time, I love going for walks with my partner, our young child, and our black lab, Kate the dog. I also enjoy playing board games, watching Bake Off, and reading novels.
I am person-centered and my work is most often informed by mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, non-violent communication, internal family systems (IFS-informed), acceptance & commitment (ACT-informed), interpersonal neurobiology, somatic experiencing, and clinical guided visualization.
My approach is two-pronged:
